In honor of Veterans Day
Recently, the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Alpha Eta Chapter, commemorated Veterans Day with "The POW/MIA Table: A Place Setting For One, A Table For All." The tradition of setting a separate table in honor of our prisoners of war and missing comrades has been in place since the Vietnam War. The manner in which this table is decorated is full of special symbols to help us remember our brothers and sisters in arms, the group explained in a press release. The program was chaired by Georgia Mielke and Mary Fortier. Also present for the special program were Barbara Holtz, Karen Scholtes, Linda Kunelius, Elizabeth Schomisch, Jacqueline Coghlan, Iris Plamann, Pauline Doucette, Mary Dettmering, Karen Thyne, Carol Ory. Missing from the photo were Alice Sturzl and Emeline Nitzel.
