Kubeny was one of 24 teachers selected from over 200 applicants nationwide who applied for the program held each year at NGPF's offices in Palo Alto, California, according to a School District of Rhinelander press release.
"The 2018 NGPF Summer Institute brought together a passionate and talented group of educators from across the United States," the release states. "They curated resources for the upcoming school year, collaborated deeply with fellow educators and enhanced their content knowledge in topics such as investing and managing credit."
In addition to NGPF team members who facilitated workshops, participants in Summer Institute also benefited from sessions led by leading experts in their field, the release states. This included participating in a Design Thinking workshop led by Stuart Coulson of Stanford University's d.school and having a conversation with behavioral finance pioneer Meir Statman of Santa Clara University.
Upon completion of the Summer Institute, Kubeny now serves as an NGPF Fellow for the 2018-19 school year, and will share his passion for and expertise in financial education with the school community at Rhinelander High School and beyond.
