Fourteen of the 38-member class were on hand for Sunday's ceremony at Pioneer Park. The others were either unable to attend or inducted posthumously.
"I'd like to thank all the players we played against," hall of fame member Dale Gaber said during the ceremony. "As good as they were, they made us good and that's why we ended up here."
Inducted were Gary Bushong, John "Weever" Carlson, Delore Deau, Bob Dunbar, Paul Ebert, Len Fralick, Bob "The Rapper" Fritz, Dale Gaber, Jim Gaber, Brian Haenel, Tim Hauser, Sonny Heikenen, George Hooker, Denny Huebner, John Huebner, Bob Johnson, Al "Chi Chi" Lundberg, Frank Lundberg, Jim Lundberg, Neil "Ned" Mathews, Ron Mathews, Dan McDonald, Todd McEldowney Sr., Bob McKenzie, Tom Moritz, Jerry Niemuth, Dick Nixon, John Nixon, Bruce Olson, Mitch Olson, Paul Olson, Frank Petta, Bob Sharp, Elmer Suess, Terry Urquhart, Larry "Dutch" Vandervest, Al "Elbow" Walkowski and Bob "Bo" Werres.
Hall of Fame members were presented with a custom leather medallion and will have their name displayed on a plaque at Pioneer Park, where the MUNY League used to play.
This year would have been the 60th anniversary of the MUNY League, which dissolved in the mid-1980s.
"This is about 35 years too late," said Ken Pazdernick, president of the MUNY League HOF Board of Directors. "It would have been great it everyone would have been here, but now we're down to a select few."
