Rhinelander High School Alpine ski coach Rod Olson, pictured second from left, took part in the Midwest Regional water ski championship, which took place July 27-29 in Wilmington, Illinois.

Olson placed third overall in the Men's 4 Division, ages 45-54, taking first place in jumps, fourth place in tricks and 20th in slalom. Olson placed first in his division at the Wisconsin State Waterski Championships July 21 in Oconomowoc.
