The group takes its name from the famous bluegrass player Bill Monroe, and offers a variety of upbeat bluegrass and traditional favorites, according to a press release announcing the performance. Monroe Crossing has played extensively to audiences across the Northwoods, according to Leschke, often necessitating high ticket prices. As always, this performance is free to all.
Listeners are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a blanket, although some benches are available for those arriving early. Free popcorn will be passed out as well as a bucket for donations toward concert expenses.
In case of bad weather, the performance will move to the senior center across the parking lot. For more information, contact Leschke at 715-362-7157.
