On a midsummer's night, four young lovers find themselves wrapped in the dream-like arms of an enchanted forest where sprites lurk and fairies rule. While a feuding Fairy King and Queen are at war, their paths are crossed by a crew of inept but well-meaning actors trying to rehearse a play. Chief mischief-maker Puck is on-hand to ensure that the course of true love is anything but smooth, and games of fantasy, love and dreams ensue in Shakespeare's most popular comedy.
This fairytale about love gone haywire features a cast of almost two dozen, representing several Northwoods areas from Tomahawk to Eagle River, Minocqua to Rhinelander and in between, according to a Nicolet press release.
All performances begin at 7:30 p.m., except for the Sunday matinees which begin at 2 p.m. Admission is $9 for general admission and $7 for students and seniors. Beer and wine and other refreshments will be available before the performance and during the intermission.
Tickets are available online at www.nicoletlive.com or by calling 715-365-4646. Any remaining seats will be available at the door one hour prior to each performance.
