In their place, the board elected Jennifer Taege to the role of president, and Tracey Barnes as the new vice president, according to an RASF press release. These leadership changes went into effect for the Oct. 18 RASF board meeting, the release states.
Currently, only the role of president and vice president have seen a change in leadership; Debbie Rinaldi and Randy Beard will remain the secretary and treasurer of the board, respectively. Typically, RASF votes every year at their annual overview meeting on any leadership changes, but the resignation of both the president and vice president for personal reasons moved the board's annual vote up by several months. However, Kathy Richards-Bess and Harlan Larson have agreed to remain on the board to assist with this transition. The board would like to express its gratitude toward Kathy and Harlan for their years of service and dedication to the Rhinelander area and its students, the release states.
The newly elected president, Jennifer Taege, is the parent of one graduated and one current Rhinelander High School student. She was drawn to the board after seeing her oldest son receive a scholarship and noting how much money the community invests in its students, the release states.
Taege is a full-time director of operations with PIP corporation, and volunteers with several organizations including Ducks Unlimited and multiple baseball-centered programs. As such, she has extensive leadership experience and team involvement in her career and her enthusiasm will be an asset to RASF, the release notes.
The new vice president, Tracy Barnes, and her two daughters are RHS graduates, and she has been a board member for some time.
Prior to being voted into the role of vice president, Barnes chaired the board's public relations committee, managing RASF's websites and social media accounts. "The board is very excited to have two such passionate and experienced women to assist in ensuring that RASF is able to continue in its goal to assist students in this community with the financial support they need to achieve their future aspirations," the release states.
