The Noontime Hockey League (NHL) presented a check to the Rhinelander Ice Association on Tuesday signifying the money it collected during its pilot program at the rink this summer.

Pictured, NHL organizer Michael Eder, right, presents RIA manager Brett Aylesworth with a check for roughly $1,200.

The Noontime Hockey League is a non-check hockey program for adults that will, as the name suggests, take place from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the winter season at the RIA. It is based on a similar program that is held in Eagle River on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The daily fee is only $5. Players may begin suiting up at 11:30 a.m.

For more information about the NHL, contact Eder (715-477-2945), Aylesworth (715-550-0116) or Steve Michlig (715-362-7648).
