Dr. Poola is board-certified in internal medicine and provides acute and chronic care to adult patients who suffer from cancer and blood disorders. Dr. Poola has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, according to an Ascension press release.
"My goal is to educate patients and their families about their conditions and the available treatment options and work with them to develop comprehensive treatment plans," said Poola.
Dr. Poola received his MBBS medical degree from Sri Devraj Urs Medical College in Kolar, India. He completed his residency and his fellowship in hematology and oncology at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois.
Outside of the office, Dr. Poola enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering in public health and social organizations and traveling.
The James Beck Cancer Center at Ascension St. Saint Mary's Hospital nurtures long, close relationships and ongoing care with cancer patients, whether in the form of future treatments, palliative care, rehabilitation, check-ups, support groups or providing new information, the release states. The goal is to meet every need of every patient, and to be a trusted resource for their families.
