The streak is over.
The Rhinelander High School football team stopped Ashland three times at the one-yard line in a last minute goal line stand and defeated the Oredockers 20-12 Friday night at Weikal Field, stopping a 23-game conference losing streak.
Mason Schelvan was stopped twice from the one and, on fourth-and-goal from one, Zach Coffland was denied.
Drake Martin scored three touchdowns for Rhinelander, including an eight-yard run with 8:02 to play, to put the Hodags up 20-12. He finished with 31 carries, 138 yards on the ground and added 10-yard scoring reception.
Logan Freund was 7 of 18 for 101 yards passing and added 37 yards on the ground.
Rhinelander (2-6, 1-4 Great Northern) ends the season Friday at home against Lakeland.
