Santa Claus is coming to Rhinelander! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be attending the annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting in downtown Rhinelander Saturday, Dec. 2, Rhinelander chamber officials said in a press release.

The festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with the parade. The lighting of the holiday tree will take place at Stevensport Square immediately following the parade.

This year's parade theme is "Celebrating Holiday Movies". Participants entering the parade are encouraged to focus their float on their favorite holiday movie. Prizes will be distributed for best float/group in the following categories: Families, Businesses, Non-Profits.

There is no entry fee.

The festivities will mark the official kick off of the holiday season in Rhinelander and includes a number of fun activities for families, the release states.

The kids will get to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus throughout the evening and there will be caroling, cookies, candy, and hot chocolate.

The Rhinelander Masonic Lodge will be open throughout the evening, the release states. Stop by to warm up with hot chocolate and coffee and listen to the Rhinelander Area Community Band.
