Soup for Shelter event to benefit NATH/Frederick Place
By Kayla Thomason-
The event will begin at 5 p.m. with dinner to be served at 5:15 p.m.
Attendees will choose from six scrumptious soups donated by area businesses.
Friendship House will be bringing chicken noodle soup, Crimson Café will have tomato basil soup, Coffee Beans will have Three Sisters soup, CT's Deli will provide cream chicken with wild rice, R & T's Dinky Diner will have chili and Brown Street 151 will provide French Onion soup. Rolls will be donated by Mad Batter Bakery.
"We are very honored to have the continued support of the businesses that donate to this event," said Tammy Modic, executive director of NATH/Frederick Place. "Many of them have been on board with donations since the very first Soup for Shelter."
In addition to the soups and rolls, there will also be a variety of door prizes and men's, women's and children's basket raffles.
Raffle tickets are $1 each, or $20 for 25 tickets. Door prize tickets are given with the free-will donation as part of admittance.
Proceeds from the event will go to the general operations of NATH.
"Every day is a blessing for us because of the continued support of our area communities," Modic said. "We could not operation Frederick Place without their support."
Frederick Place opened on Jan. 31, 2011 and has never been empty.
"Frederick Place has been home to 599 unduplicated individuals, 92 of them being children," Modic said. "Our youngest resident was 2 days old and our oldest resident was 78 years old."
