Twelve teams from the Wisconsin Valley and Great Northern Conference took part in the meet and the Hodags held their own against the competition.
The JWMS boys' throwers stood out Wednesday. Alex Olson won the shot put with a toss of 40 feet, 1 inch and placed fourth in the discus (123-2). Ben Sinclair finished third in both events for the Hodags (38-7 1/2 shot, 123-7 discus).
Eighth-grader Walker Hartman placed in three events, taking fourth in the triple jump (34-0), fifth in the long jump (16-6) and sixth in the 400-meter dash (59.77 seconds).
Caleb Olcikas placed twice in the sprint events, taking sixth in the 200 (25.88) and eighth in the 100 (12.75).
Others to score points for the JWMS boys included Cole Worrall (7th, 110 hurdles, 18.11), Nick Jaeger (7th, high jump, 5-0), Joe Lieder (8th, high jump, 4-10) and Jacques Tulowitzky (8th, 200 hurdles, 30.32).
Lexi Gamez led the Hodags girls, placing twice in the hurdle events. She took second in the 200 (33.44) and eighth in the 100 (18.89). Neveah Forster was sixth in the shot put (26-1 1/2) and Rebecca Lawrence was sixth in the high jump (4-8).
