"Roughly 19,000 high schoolers from all 50 states and a few countries like Canada and South Korea, and U.S. Territories were represented," the release states. "There were two methods students could use to get to Anaheim; five DECA members placed in the top four at state, while two more attended an Emerging Leaders Conference. Either way, all those who attended gained fantastic experience for future endeavors as they become more involved with the chapter or head to college."
Gunnar Millot won Wisconsin's Professional Selling event to reach ICDC by attempting to sell drone services. Haley Sisel, Faith Bartelt, and Abby Krueger also won second place at state with their community service project. Max Holperin was the other competitor at ICDC by taking fourth place in personal financial literacy at state. Mason Hageny and Jonus Sabani went as representatives in an Emerging Leaders Conference, a leadership academy focused on improving critical thinking and problem solving, communication, collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
"Although nobody from Rhinelander was able to reach finals this year, the students did have the opportunity to do more than compete," the release states. "Universal Studios hosted a DECA night, where the park was closed to the public, and the Anaheim Convention Center is only two blocks from Downtown Disney. It was a busy five days, but those who went will remember the experience for a lifetime. Chapter Advisor Ms. Fryar traveled to California with the students, and thought that the members put in a lot of practice time, and did exceptionally well. She will be traveling to Anaheim again in June for FBLA Nationals with two other students."
