Registration underway for YMCA's Hodag Run
New this year is a half marathon, sponsored by Nicolet National Bank, which will begin at 8 a.m. The 10K Run, sponsored by Habush, Habush, & Rottier S.C., at 8:45 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk and Stroller Division, sponsored by Superior Diesel, will start at 9:15 a.m. These runs will have a new route running north through Pine Lake.
A free youth race, Chase the Hodag, sponsored by Rhinelander Kiwanis, will take place at 10:30 a.m.. Youth participants receive a free Hodag Run for Your Life T-shirt along with a souvenir numbered race bib. This race is for ages 12 years old and younger with registration the day of the event. Parents are encouraged to run with their children or carry them on their shoulders.
"Each year the race attracts hundreds of area residents and summer visitors to the area," the YMCA stated in a press release announcing the event.
All pre-registered participants will receive an official Hodag Run T-shirt. T-shirts will be available on the day of the race, but not guaranteed unless registered by June 11. The closing ceremony will award custom Hodag Run medals to the top three male and female finishers in each age bracket.
"The top overall male and female finishers in each race will receive a special coveted Hodag Award," the Y stated.
All those who complete the half marathon will receive a finishing award.
Businesses are encouraged to register for the Corporate Cup Challenge. The winner of this challenge is the team with the most finishing participants. This winner will receive a special Hodag plaque to hang up at their business.
The Corporate Cup Trophy, housed and displayed at the Y, displays each year's corporate winner.
Registration for the 5K and 10K is $30 before June 11 and $35 after that date. A group rate is available. A group of 10 or more is only $25 per entry before June 11 and $30 after that date. The half marathon is $50 before June 11 and $55 after that date, group rate $45.
