Rhinelander Figure Skating Club member and Rhinelander High school alumna Grace Hoger competed in the USFSA's On Wisconsin college figure skating competition hosted by the University of Wisconsin on March 3 and 4 at the McFarland Ice Arena. Hoger competed for Winona State University at the Novice Free skate and senior dance levels. After taking fourth in her short program, Hoger placed third out of 18 entrants in the Novice long program, earning a bronze medal. She also placed fifth in her dance (the Killian). It was Hoger's first medal in collegiate competition. Eighteen colleges from around the Midwest participated in the competition including Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Ohio State University, Michigan, Minnesota-Duluth, Minnesota, Marquette, Miami (Ohio), Ferris State, Washington University, Bowling Green, Adrian College, Oakland University. Hoger is a freshman at Winona State majoring in cellular molecular biology.
