Proceeds from new book to go to Three Lakes Community Foundation
The book is titled "Breathing In Three Lakes, a Poem," and initial reaction has been enthusiastic, according to a press release announcing the book's publication.
Kate and Bob Hager saw it and bought three copies, the release states. Two days later Kate was back for three more. Doug and Gay Scheffen snapped up three copies.
"This book makes a wonderful gift for our kids and friends, all who love Three Lakes," Kate said.
Morley, a well-known artist, created 11 originals for the book. The varied and colorful works are interspersed with the poem.
Williams said, "In the poem there are 168 triggers of thoughts which are about our Three Lakes moments, experiences and memories. Alliteration is the structure."
Morley and Williams have donated the initial printing and all future rights to the Three Lakes Community Foundation. The asking minimum contribution for the 11"x8.5", 40-page full color book is $25.
"It is our hope that everyone who has ever touched Three Lakes, or whom Three Lakes has touched, will find a way to possess a copy of 'Breathing In Three Lakes,'" Morley said.
Williams said that a second book is already in the thinking stages. "What if the young and all ages would bring out even more thoughts, or tell their personal stories of attachment and of what was or is formative about their experiences here. And what if we get after the hand-me-down stories of past characters and their engaging escapades ... the lore of Three Lakes. Story history."
In the press release, Williams and Morley paid a compliment to publisher Hahn Printing, Eagle River. "This was a tricky, delicate order. Hahn did a masterful job," they agreed.
"Breathing In Three Lakes" is available at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts (theater), and at various businesses. Or email [email protected] for personal contact.
