Celebrate the red, white, and blue: Area Fourth of July events
The Rhinelander Lions Kiddie Parade will begin at 10 a.m. July 4 with the main parade to follow at 11 a.m.
The theme this year is America: Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly.
After taking a different path last year due to the city streetscape project, organizers have returned to the traditional parade route.
The parade will start at the Rhinelander Police Station on Frederick Street then run south on Brown Street and finish up by running north on Courtney Street to Rives Street.
City officials said Wednesday the streetscape project is "90 percent complete," the streets are 100 percent open and there are no barricades.
"Rhinelander's 4th of July parade is a tradition for so many," Rhinelander chamber executive director Maggie Steffen said in a press release. "This year's parade is undoubtedly special as Rhinelander residents and visitors will get to experience the parade in the newly renovated downtown!"
Units of interest in the parade are the Rhinelander High School Band, Pipes and Drums of Thunder Bay, Seymour High School Band, Edgar High School Band, Rhinelander Community Band, Zor Funsters, and Janesville Fife and Drum.

In the evening, the action will shift to Hodag Park where fireworks will be lit at dusk.
