Dixie Six to perform Concert on the Riverwalk June 28
"These talented Northwoods musicians evoke the sounds of dance halls and bordellos of last century, with tunes by Fats Waller, Hoagy Carmichael and the New Orleans Rhythm Kings," concert series organizers said in a press release.
Members include Mary Brendemuhl of Elcho on piano, Kate Rahimzadeh of Arbor Vitae on clarinet, Meinrad Marti of Crandon on trumpet, Jim Hall of Minocqua on trombone, Bob Hanson of Minocqua on banjo, and Jim Leschke of Rhinelander on tuba.
As always, Concerts on the Riverwalk are free and some benches are available. The audience is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and bug spray, and enjoy free popcorn during the performance. A bucket will be passed for contributions.
In case of bad weather, the concert will be held across the parking lot at the senior center (Department on Aging).
