Truth be told..... only the first sentence of the previous paragraph is true. The three vendors were, however, welcomed into the Hodag Farmers Market community.
Schramke Garden is a fresh return of a familiar face. Years ago this young gardener assisted another vendor selling many of her homegrown produce and canned goods. The new stall displayed not only a variety of fresh vegetables but also beautiful bouquets of flowers. They will be at the market throughout the summer.
Utech Rainbow Farm, located in Merrill, is back once again selling organic blueberries. Their blueberries are big, beautiful and very tasty. They are also selling a lovely blueberry soft spread. They will be with the market until the blueberry season is over. Don't wait too long to purchase those delicious gems.
Son of a Birch, from the Eagle River area, is a brand new vendor selling Chaga. Chaga, also known as King of the Medicinal Mushrooms, is a non-toxic fungus that grows on living birch trees in cooler climates. It's usually made into a tea for its healthful benefits. You can learn more about Chaga at https://chagahq.com/.
Son of a Birch also sells beautiful handmade wooden items.
The Hodag Farmers Market is held every Saturday, from 8 to 1, at Pioneer Park in Rhinelander.
