Rhinelander ArtStart recently received a series of prints from the Rhinelander District Library that will become a part of ArtStart's children's art class programs. The prints of historic artwork were originally part of the Rhinelander Area Children's Art Program (CAP) which brought art education to district schools from 1978 to 2003.

Prints used by The Picture People, CAP volunteers who brought a variety of art education presentations to the schools, were in storage in the library. When the prints were discovered by library staff, they were offered to ArtStart. Originally, the prints were purchased and mounted by CAP.

"We were excited to accept this wonderful donation, and it comes at just the right time," ArtStart Director Melinda Childs said in a press release. "ArtStart is expanding their staff and volunteer capacities over 2017, and one goal is expanding their kids' art programming."

"We have lots of ideas for using these beautiful prints as a resource in our children's art classes and, hopefully, out in the community as well."

Information on the Rhinelander ArtStart children's art programs is available at [email protected], or Childs may be contacted at 715-362-4328.
