"This was an important meet to determine what we need to focus on as we go into our divisional and championship meets in the next two weeks," RSC coach Megan Cihla noted. "However, the thing that I am most impressed about this meet did not happen in the water. I observed Ava Lamers on the side of the pool deck, without being instructed to do so, giving words of encouragement and answering questions to our younger swimmers. She stepped up and really showed her leadership skills. It means just as much if not more to witness that as it does to see personal bests or high finishes."
Jack Antonuk set a new club record in the boys 11-12 year old age group with his time of 2 minutes, 37.81 seconds in the 200-yard butterfly. Abi Winnicki also set a new club record in the 9-10 year old 400 IM with her time of 5:50.16.
