The Northern Arts Council held its annual meeting Thursday, Jan. 12, and installed (from left) Tom Winquist, treasurer; Julie Bronson, president; Torrey Youngstrum, vice-president; and Sue Hucker, secretary, as officers for the coming year. The council awarded $10,600 in grants to area arts programs and also provided a $1,500 grant to Rhinelander High School for a sound system upgrade in 2016. Other council projects include the Northern National Art Competition, held in conjunction with Nicolet College, and the performance in Rhinelander by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
