ArtStart opens gallery to local photographers
"There are so many creative people in this area, and we are thrilled to bring their original work to ArtStart," ArtStart Development Director Melinda Childs said in a press release.
Each photographer may submit up to two original photographs. Submissions must be 8" x 10" prints, color or black and white, unmatted and unframed. A review team will inspect each work to ensure adherence to the rules of the exhibition, and inclusion in the final exhibition will be at the sole discretion of the team, the release states. Photographs may be dropped off at ArtStart on these days only: Jan. 24, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Jan. 26-28, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Further information on the submission process is available on the ArtStart website, ArtStartRhinelander.

The public is invited to a closing reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the gallery. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
ArtStart is located at 68 S. Stevens St. in Rhinelander. Gallery hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
ArtStart will begin its 2017 season March 16 with an exhibition of the paintings of Sofia Arnold from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and hand-felted works in wool and silk by Phyllis Fredendall, the release notes.
