Five RHS Choral students perform at Brother's Sing on Music Festival
Five students from the Rhinelander High School Choral Program were recently invited to perform at the Brother's Sing on Music Festival at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Jan. 27. This was an extraordinary opportunity in that they were able to rehearse and perform with over 260 male singers from all over the state of Wisconsin, according to a school district press release. The students attended rehearsals for the entire day under the study of Dr. David Ray, director of choral programs and Associate Dean for graduate studies and research at Michigan State University College of Music. Also included in their day's itinerary were mini- sessions on vocal techniques with UWSP voice faculty Susan Bender and Matthew Markham and a mini-recital by outstanding UWSP male voice students and voice faculty baritone Matthew Markham. The culmination of the day's rehearsals and hard work was a beautiful concert in Michelson Hall in the Noel Fine Arts Center on campus.
