NATH receives grant from Green Bay Packers Foundation
This year the Green Bay Packers Foundation focused their grant awards on human services, the elderly, the hungry, and the homeless, according to a NATH press release announcing the grant. They awarded $800,000 in grant money to 213 recipients from 44 counties in Wisconsin. Thirty-four percent of the grants awarded went to human service organizations, 32 percent went to fight hunger, 20 percent went to fight homelessness, and 14 percent to support the elderly.
The operations of Frederick Place homeless shelter in Rhinelander will be funded in part by the $4,000 grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation. In 2017, it cost NATH $43.25 per day per resident to stay at Frederick Place. These funds will be used to provide shelter, food, basic needs and case management for residents, the release states. Frederick Place has been home to over 600 "unduplicated" individuals who have experienced homelessness since it opened its doors on Jan. 31, 2011. The youngest resident was 2 years old and the oldest was 78 years old, with the average age being 34 years old.
NATH receives award from Harley-Davidson Foundation
The Harley-Davidson Foundation has also awarded NATH with a grant in the amount of $4,000.
The Harley-Davidson Foundation provides community support in areas where they have corporate facilities, the release states. Grants target areas of greatest need among underserved populations. The grant provided by the Harley-Davidson Foundation will help fund the operations of Frederick Place. These funds will provide shelter, food, basic needs, and case management for one resident for just over 90 days.
