Carolers were dressed in gorgeous Victorian-styled garb, a table was set out with homemade cookies, and tea was provided by Coffee Beans of Rhinelander.
Those visiting the library also had an opportunity to win raffles prizes. Prizes were donated by Forth Floral, Trig's Floral, CT's Deli and Rhinelander Cafe &Pub.
Claudia Baker, chairman of Victorian Tea for Friends of the Library, thought the event went over well with the patrons.
"It seems like everybody seems to enjoy it," she said.
Linda Tulo, library patron, enjoyed listening to the classic holiday songs.
"It's beautiful, everyone looks so grand," she said. "The music and the time of year, I think it's lovely."
Another patron, Lucy Palm, thought the Victorian Christmas Tea was a unique way to celebrate the season and was pleased to learn the proceeds from the event would go to the library. "I think it's a great event to get people to come to the library," she said. "I think it's a good idea, the library needs all the help it can get."
The event was sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
