Two new RSC records were set in the process.
Ella Heck, 8, was the first eight and under girl to ever swim a 500 freestyle for the club, establishing the mark for future swimmers at 8 minutes, 28.17 seconds.
Abi Winnicki, 11, had two state qualifying times, one in the 400 IM (5:20.67) and the 1000 freestyle (11:47.29) Her time in the IM is also the new club record for her age group.
RSC head coach Megan Cihla said she was extremely pleased with how her team performed at the meet.
"Many kids swam new events to broaden their abilities," she said. "Everyone stepped up to the challenge of those events and excelled far beyond my goals for them, I had a large group in the 500 free for the first time ranging from 8-year-olds to 12-year-olds. These kids (Ella Heck, Emma Houg, Vivian Lamers, Ellyse Younker, Sarah Marshal, Ella Cordy and Madyson Kramsvogel) not only excelled in this new event, but they even surprised themselves, most of them even asking to swim it again.
"This meet showed how versatile our team is this year and it also showed me the areas we need to continue to work on. I couldn't be more proud of the RSC Hodags."
Several swimmers had some impressive time drops this meet.
Camilla Gruett, Eva Heck, Vivian Lamers, Eli Lundt, Rylee Mickevicius, Noelle St. Pierre, Abi Winnicki and Sierra Woodford all had 20-second time drops in at least one event. Brock Arrowood, Claire Castleton, Ella Cordy, Augusta Gruett, Sarah Marshall, Barak Rappley, Olin Slette and Makenna Winnicki had 15-second time drops. Jack Antonuk, Drayke Arrowood, Shawn Denis, Daniel Gillingham, Karly Gillingham, Zachariah King, Ella Miljevich, Phoebe Moran and Evelyn Simonson posted 10-second time drops.
The club will compete in Tomahawk this Saturday.
