School district offering Fab Lab Exploration class for community members
Participants will explore the vinyl cutter, 3D printers, 3D scanners, laser engravers and CNC milling machine, according to a district press release. "This equipment is fun and very easy to use," the release states. "In this class you will explore each tool and its associating software, make practical and useful items, decorations and signs. The Fab Lab is a great environment for expressing yourself through art, for crafters, entrepreneurs, and people looking to make almost anything. You could even make your Christmas gifts in this class!"
The class will take place over the course of three days. The main part is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 16, from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The class will also meet on the evenings of Tuesday, Dec. 19 and Thursday, Dec. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Members of the public are encouraged to sign up even if they are unable to make one or both of the evening meetings, the release states.
All classes will take place in the RHS Fab Lab.
The instructor for the class will be RHS Industrial Technology teacher Mike Wojtusik. The fee is $45 per person.
People of all ages are welcome (children in fifth grade or younger must be accompanied by an adult who is also registered for the class).
