The volunteers knit hats and mittens for all the Headstart children in Oneida County and also for the food pantry.
They also knit or crochet afghans that are given to the veterans hospital and nursing home residents as well as the hats for the newborns at the hospital.
The group is a non-profit and organizers say they do not have funds left to purchase yarn. Last year the volunteers made over 300 hat and mitten sets. Anyone interested in donating yarn should call Lori Bushong at 715-369-1919.
