Ten members of the Rhinelander Figure Skating Club took part in the State Games of America Aug. 2-6 at the Patterson Ice Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Hodag contingent fared well, capturing 12 gold medals and 42 medals overall. The skaters qualified for the biannual event by medaling in the Badger State Games earlier this winter.

Recently graduated Rhinelander High School senior Lauryn Cook brought home the most medals, with 10 overall, including gold medals in Young Adult Dramatic Entertainment and Junior Step Sequence.

Aubrey Barber won five gold medals. Nicole Brunette won three gold medals. Carmen Incha and Sadie Jones each won one gold medal.

Additionally, the group also won medals in a few team performances. Joyce Hauser and Michelle Pazdernik took silver in Duet. Incha and Rachel Uhlarik took home silver in Young Adult Duet. Hauser, Incha, Cook, Grace Hoger and Uhlarik won bronze in Mini Production.

Aubrey Barber and Alyssa Lamb also represented the club at the State Games of America.
