Rhinelander High School will send seven DECA members to Anaheim, California Tuesday, April 25 for the International Career Development Conference (ICDC). DECA is a marketing and business organization at the high school that focuses on career and leadership development, according to a district press release. To compete at ICDC, students had to compete at regionals, and place in the top four at state in their respective events, which vary from accounting to web design. Five students will be competing, while two more qualified to attend the Emerging Leaders Conference.

Haley Sisel, Faith Bartelt, and Abby Krueger will be presenting their community service project, which is about the Letters to Santa project our chapter does with the elementary schools. Gunnar Millot qualified for ICDC by taking first in his event, personal selling. Max Holperin is also going for personal financial literacy. Jonas Sabani and Mason Hageny will also be going to gain useful knowledge and tips in the Emerging Leaders Conference coinciding with competition.

The Rhinelander students will join about 20,000 of the top students from all 50 states and several nations like China, Canada, Guam, and Spain all attempting to make it on the big stage at the end.

If you would like to make a donation to assist the seven students attending ICDC or have any questions, please contact Mischell Fryar at 715-365-9500 or [email protected].
