The Hodags took second out of six eligible teams in the boys' division and fifth out of seven teams in the girls' division.
Jacob Weddle paced the Hodag boys, finishing third overall in a time of 12 minutes, 32 seconds. Rhinelander placed four runners in the top 15 overall, including Cal Laggis (ninth, 13:15), Zach Goodrich (12th, 13:38) and Tristan Fuss (13:51). Rounding out the Hodags' scoring seven were Daniel Goldsworthy (34th, 15:16), Samuel Fehlen (35th, 15:19) and Tucker Frederickson (36th, 15:24).
Megan Brown paced the Hodag girls, finishing 16th (14:37). Grace Kern and Annika Johnson crossed together in 15:06, placing 20th and 21st. Julianna Smith (29th, 15:31), Brynn Brzycki (30th, 15:31), Sage Flory (32nd, 15:37) and Anna Wood (37th, 15:54) rounded out the Hodags' top seven.
The Hodags were back in action Thursday, Sept. 15 in a meet at Horace Mann Middle School in Wausau.
