"A singer/songwriter, Fernandez is known for his Native American flute and guitar performance," according to a press release announcing the concert. "He is a popular touring musician in Europe and is also in demand as a teacher of Native American flute."
His awards include Male Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year at the Native American Music Awards and Folk, Pop, Instrumental and Country Artist of the Year at the Indian Summer Music Awards.
Reflecting his Menominee Nation roots, Fernandez honors tradition while forging ahead in an ever-expanding world of music. "Music is a very powerful gift to be returned and shared in a good way," he said.
ArtStart is located at 68 S. Stevens St. in Rhinelander.
