Four join Rhinelander District Library Foundation Board
Michael Carlson, a member of Carlson Funeral Service and a Rhinelander native who attended Zion Lutheran School and Rhinelander High School, values community life in the Northwoods. A well-recognized competitive swimmer in high school, college and beyond, he now enjoys hunting and fishing when not serving the family firm, his church, and community.
Crystal Hanks Childs and her husband Brent moved here from Denver, Colo. to be close to family. They own and remotely operate Vital Industries, a business that does screenprinting on housewares. She and four-year-old daughter, Marika, love the children's department at the library. She enjoys gardening and sewing.
Dana DeMet, branch manager at Nicolet National Bank, grew up in the area. He came to the children's library often, carrying home a stack of books bigger than he was. A winner of the famed annual Great Library Worm Race, he now likes to road and mountain bike.
Craig Lau, vice president of commercial lending at Peoples Bank, has been around the Rhinelander area all his life, having spent his summers vacationing in the area. He served in the Army and National Guard for 22 years and likes hunting and fishing.
Kim Swisher owns Kim Swisher Communications, L.L.C., a public relations and digital communications firm which provides community relations, social media management for businesses, governments, educational institutions, non-profits, and tribal governments. Swisher loves technology and is excited about sharing that love with others. She has served as an adjunct faculty member for the Milwaukee Area Technical College, Moraine Park Technical College, and the Fox Valley Technical College.
Total contributions now stand at $9475.00 to the June Campaign to provide new window blinds to protect books and increase energy efficiency. Donations can be made at the library, by mail to the Rhinelander District Library Foundation, P.O. Box 1225, Rhinelander, WI 54501-1225, or online at rdlfoundation.org.
