College students volunteer at Rhinelander area food pantry
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry. Most are local volunteers that work throughout the year doing all the tasks necessary to allow for the distribution of over 596,000 pounds of food to area families in need. Occasionally an organization or group will volunteer to perform specific projects. One such group was a number of college students enrolled in the summer leadership program at Honey Rock, the Northwoods Camp & Campus of Wheaton College, located near Three Lakes. The group recently worked for two days on a number of projects at the Food Pantry and Community Garden. Pictured are volunteers from Camp Honey Rock, along with Community Garden Co-Coordinator Tom Jerow.
