By any just standard, Hillary Clinton is unfit to be president
It could have been another example of how far we've sunk in American politics; or they might have had a point, and the fact that she isn't in prison but is headed probably to the White House is the true demonstration of our nation's moral surrender.
We prefer the latter view and think there's strong evidence to support it. By any just standard, Hillary Clinton is a corrupt, pathological liar with no moral fiber, and she's most likely a criminal to boot. She is uniquely unfit to be President of the United States, and her recklessness might well expose the nation not only to terrorist attacks but to world-wide conflict and another Cold War.
Well, let's not sugar coat it. Hillary Clinton poses the biggest threat to this nation's prosperity and security and sovereignty, and she should never ever set foot in the Oval Office. If people think George W. Bush's administration was an adult party of corruption, warmongering, and cronyism, well, that was just a grade school picnic compared to the party Hillary Clinton is getting ready to throw.
Her list of scandals is so long that it's, well, scandalous. You remember Whitewater, right, the first time she should have gone to prison except for the fact that she was - where? - in the White House. Officially, there was "insufficient evidence" to prosecute.
You remember Benghazi, when Hillary lied cold-heartedly to the families of the dead, insisting that an Internet video that had been circulated for months caused a spontaneous street eruption, complete with spontaneous grenade launchers. And surely you remember later when she said, "We didn't lose a single person in Libya" during her time as secretary of state.
It might also be noted that emails released by the State Department flatly contradict Clinton's testimony before the Benghazi Select Committee, yet another occasion for Hillary to lie uncontrollably.
Speaking of lying, you remember when she lied about being fired upon by snipers while deplaning in Bosnia in 1996, when video shows her standing calmly on the tarmac receiving a kiss from a little girl who read her a poem. Brian Williams was banished for making up such stories, but Hillary is heading for the White House.
You must remember the alleged scheme by the Clinton administration to bestow slots on international trade missions in exchange for campaign contributions to Bill Clinton's 1996 re-election campaign. Testimony later fingered Hillary Clinton as the instigator.
And you must remember TravelGate, right? That's when, just after Bill took office in 1993, Hillary had members of the White House travel office fired and replaced with a firm with Clintonian connections. Most notably here, investigations showed Hillary making any number of false statements to investigators, one of the earliest signatures of her pathological need to lie.
Oh, there's the Clinton Foundation, which was taking donations from foreign and sometimes unfriendly governments. Just a coincidence, we guess, that the Clinton Foundation was receiving donations from Saudi Arabia and Boeing at the very time Hillary was approving the sale of $29 billion of advanced fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, led by a Boeing consortium. Boeing gave nearly a million dollars just two months before the deal was finalized.
According to an International Business Times' analysis, Hillary's State Department approved $165 billion worth of commercial arms sales to 20 nations whose governments have given money to the Clinton Foundation.
On and on the scandals go - Filegate; illegally removing files from Vince Foster's office after his death; Rose law firm billing records; pay-to-play schemes - too many to write about, really. Maybe that's why the mainstream media doesn't cover them, eh?
Her criminality in the email and private server case is confirmed not merely by the fact that the Department of Justice has prosecuted others for the same offense - only their breaches threatened national security far less - but in the words of FBI director James Comey, who said there was "evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information."
So if there was evidence of a crime, especially one involving classified information, why didn't it go to a jury? We all know the answer to that one. She's a Clinton, and Clintons don't have to obey the law or tell the truth. In fact, she repeatedly lied to the American people about having classified information on her email server.
If ever there was a candidate who personifies the corrupt, special interest, elitist establishment that has so fueled the rise not only of Donald Trump but of Bernie Sanders, it's Hillary Clinton.
At the very moment that voter anger with such elite politics is bursting at the seams, Hillary is dangerously close to consolidating the elite's power, protected as she is by a massive welfare class, the establishments of both major political parties, and a propagandistic media funded by the government and by the very multinational corporations that have a vested interest in her election.
What should disturb the American people most of all - and, not least, Democratic progressives - is that she is a globalist enthralled with Wall Street and those multinational corporations who have designs on our sovereignty and on our standard of living, what's left of it anyway.
That she has public and private positions is now acknowledged, both in the transcripts of her Wall Street speeches and by her own words. She dreams of open borders, which Bernie Sanders correctly says would destroy the nation-state as we know it.
And she called the Trans-Pacific Partnership the gold standard, though it is really a super poison pill sensibly opposed by both Left and Right and only supported by special-interest elites, before she recently flip-flopped to oppose it. But is there any voter alive who really believes that she opposes it, that she will not fast track TPP as soon as she is in the White House?
Remember, she is a pathological, corrupt liar.
Her warmongering foreign policy should scare the wits out of any sensible American and even of any sensible interventionist. To her, Russia is now the nation's biggest threat and enemy - though she derided Mitt Romney in 2012 when he said much the same thing - and her obsessed mission to revive the Cold War while ignoring ISIS should send shivers down the spines of all Americans.
For it is not just our prosperity Hillary Clinton threatens; it's our lives. As Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate said recently, after observing that there's more than enough evidence for the government to prosecute Hillary Clinton for multiple crimes, it is Hillary whom we should worry about when it comes to handling nuclear codes.
It may be too late, but some on the Left are already having buyers' remorse. In a piece entitled "The Dangers of Hillary Clinton," lead New York Times' liberal columnist Ross Douthat wrote that what is distinctive about Hillary is her unerring loyalty to the wishes of the globalist elite, a penchant for compliance not shown by George W. Bush or even Barack Obama.
When the establishment was for the war in Iraq, she was for the war in Iraq. When the establishment opposed a troop surge in Iraq, she was opposed to a troop surge in Iraq. When the establishment wanted to take down Gaddafi in Libya, she wanted to take down Gaddafi in Libya and even helped mastermind it. When the globalist establishment needs a cheerleader for Angela Merkel, as she is overwhelmed by the immigration disaster she unleashed in Germany, there is Hillary yelling Hip-Hip-Hooray.
Douthat wrote of the dangers of Hillary Clinton:
"They're the dangers of elite groupthink, of Beltway power worship, of a cult of presidential action in the service of dubious ideals. They're the dangers of a recklessness and radicalism that doesn't recognize itself as either, because it's convinced that if an idea is mainstream and commonplace among the great and good then it cannot possibly be folly."
But folly it is, as the global establishment takes us to the brink. As she leads the charge with no moral compass or core values, other than her fidelity to the masters of the universe, Hillary Clinton is unfit to be President. She is a menace to the Right, a menace to the Left, a menace to the Center, a menace to the very republic itself.
Now might be a good time for all of us to chant, 'Lock her up' before she blows us up, literally as well as metaphorically.
