A fitting farewell to the 'Republican Party'

A fitting farewell to the 'Republican Party'
A fitting farewell to the 'Republican Party'

Steamrolling into the election, the "Republican Party" as we have all known it is set to meet its expiration date, and the party's demise, after the antics this past week of establishment "Republicans," can hardly come too soon.

We all know Democrats believe talk of sexual assault matters only if you're Donald Trump but that accusations of actual assault are private matters or delusional ranting if Bill Clinton is the accused. And it's not really important, liberals believe, that Hillary Clinton tried to strong arm the accusers and thus victimized them twice.

For Democrats walking in shoes drenched in such hypocrisy, Trump's words about assault speak louder than the Clintons' actual assaults upon women, as the woman who says Bill Clinton raped her said this week. So much for old proverbs in this new age of government media.

We are used to Democratic double standards, of course, but now we know that establishment Republicans like Paul Ryan and John McCain think the same way. Or, at the very least, they are feigning outrage over Trump's lewd language as a way to denounce and attack him - again - so that Hillary can win.

Either way, they and their ilk want Hillary in office, and that means their day of reckoning is coming, and coming soon. The same goes for the Bushes, some members of the "conservative" punditry class, Glenn Beck, the Koch Brothers, and all those others whose true colors have been exposed.

Indeed, what we now know is that these supposed men and women of high moral character have been frauds all along. They have been globalists in conservative clothing, liars and con artists taking the Republican electorate for a ride to nowhere.

The truth is, Ryan and the Kochs have long shared Hillary's "dream" of open borders. For Democrats, the pay off is the transfer of political power to a bureaucratic world government; for their corporate allies and political puppets, it means transfer of ever more blood money from the citizenry into their pockets.

There was once a Democratic ad depicting Ryan throwing granny off the cliff. Remember that one? Only it was actually worse than that; with his embrace of open borders and "free trade," otherwise known as the redistribution of money from our middle class to multinational corporations and the elite 1 percent, Ryan was actually throwing all of us off the cliff.

For eight years, too - until the rise of Donald Trump - these liars have been bemoaning what an absolute catastrophe Barack Obama was and is, and how the nation could ill-afford another four years and could not take a third term known as a Hillary presidency.

That's when they thought one of their own would win the GOP nomination this year. Now, of course, the prospect of a Hillary presidency doesn't seem so bad to the "Republicans." Indeed, they have embraced her.

So they must have been lying to us all along about how bad the Democrats were, or - and this is the correct answer - they were in the Democrats' corner all along.

So, yes, their day of reckoning is coming, whether Trump wins or loses. They may as well join the Democratic Party, for how can they ever expect to win among conservatives again? (Unfortunately for them, the Democratic Party doesn't want these low lifes, either; they are grooming their own.)

After all, conservatives have already rejected their hypocrisy and their policies of bureaucratic-multinational corporate-driven globalism.

So what will these "Republicans" say when President Clinton follows through with her threat to appoint Supreme Court justices who vow to end the Second Amendment? What will they say, besides hooray, when she flips again and signs TPP?

What will they say when she follows through with massive regulatory schemes and new federal encroachments on state sovereignty, the latter of which she has condemned repeatedly as dangerous?

What will they say when she opens the borders and then fulfills her pledge to flood the country with Syrian refugees? What will they say when she signs executive orders that shred constitutional separation of powers?

What will they say when those orders go further than Obama ever dreamed, such as her promise to use executive authority to impose mandatory caps on greenhouse gas emissions, to give work permits to 5 million illegal immigrants, and to require background checks for gun purchases online or at gun shows.

What will they say when she shows her neoconservative warmongering undergarments and opens a new floodgate of spending to the military-industrial complex? What will they say the next time she embarks on a destabilizing war, invokes unconstitutional war powers, and blames a vast right-wing conspiracy - and guns - for American deaths at the hands of terrorists, who will actually have poured in through her open borders and among her flood of refugees?

What will they say when she signs climate change treaties using executive agreements without congressional approval instead of following the constitution's ratification requirement of a two-thirds Senate majority?

What will they say when she completely shuts down transparency in the executive branch and unleashes the NSA and the military to fully spy on Americans, which she has said she supports?

What will they say when she makes good on her threat to assassinate citizens in foreign countries, without any tribunals, because she happens to decide they pose a threat to our national security (or Bill's reputation)? What will they say when she arbitrarily and unilaterally classifies congressional documents and exerts and expands executive privilege to shield the workings of executive agencies?

What will they say when she circumvents laws through the use of signing statements, as she has promised to do? What will they she say when puts coal miners out of work, slams the door on the Keystone pipeline, and shuts down the nation's domestic energy production to mollify both environmental allies and Muslim countries that plot against us?

What will they say when she expands presidential discretion to refuse to enforce the laws Congress passes, as she sees fit? What will they say when she orders spending beyond congressional spending limits, again, as she promises? What will they say when she blocks any efforts to reform unsustainable entitlements in Social Security and Medicare?

What will they say when she presses for a more "affordable" single-payer health system to finish off the middle class? What will they say when she unveils a bid for a federal one-size-fits-all living wage that would decimate the South and the Midwest?

What will they say when she wines and dines Clinton Foundation donors and Hollywood celebrities but disappears from average Americans for extended periods of time, which has been the hallmark of her campaign? What will they say when these donors and corporate benefactors populate the halls and chief positions of her regulatory state?

Just what the hell will the "Republican" establishment say when their embraced candidate, whom they will have helped critically to elect, does all this?

Well, you may retort, if the "Republicans" just hold on to Congress, they will stop her. Everything will be OK.

Really? Stop her the way the "Republican" Congress has stopped Obama? They made a budget deal that literally gave the president everything he wanted with nothing in return. They funded Obamacare. Fully. They stood down when the White House acted on illegal immigration and amnesty. They refused to stand on any principle to avoid shutting down 17 percent of the government for a few days.

A Democratic Congress cannot be any worse than that. To use Hillary's words, what difference does it make?

Sean Hannity has called for a new party, now that the Republican brand has been exposed and fatally tainted as the corrupt entity it is, as the junior partners of the corporate globalist scheme.

George W. Bush led the Republican Party to the edge of extinction when he chose to wear his party's corruption and excess on his political sleeve. Donald J. Trump is taking us the rest of the way by exposing the globalist nature of it all.

So let's say farewell once and for all to the Republican Party.

No funeral is needed, though Paul Ryan did offer the party's eulogy this past week, even if he doesn't quite realize it yet.
