YMCA kids duathlon winners crowned
The participants ran and biked the Kiwanis Stoney Pines Trail and the Y field. Thirty-two kids, ages 2 to 12, participated in the event. Each child received a Y Fit Kids Duathlon T-shirt, thanks to Kwik Trip, and a medal for completing the race.
The race results were as follows:
6- to 8-year-old finishers
1st Place: Spencer Timm
2nd Place: Willa Bureta
3rd Place: Olin Slette
Also participating: Thomas Eades, Isaac Rossing, Clara Pudlowski, Claire Pudlowski, June Chiamulera, Carter Nelson, Paul Denis, Tegan Sauter, Caleb Luce, Austen Slette and Morgan Cahee.
9- to 12-year-old finishers
1st Place: Maria Gironella
2nd Place: Payton McCue
3rd Place: Mia Gillingham
Also participating: Dominic Gironella, Emma Chiamulera and Shawn Denis.
"Thank you to everyone who participated in the duathlon," the YMCA stated in a press release. "A special thank you to all the volunteers who helped with this fun event. We look forward to next year's duathlon."
