Multi-platinum pianist and composer Steven C will capture the peaceful essence of the upcoming holiday season when he performs solo in the Nicolet College Theatre at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, according to a press release announcing the performance.

Trained in the classical tradition, Steven is known for his keen ear and compositions that are inventive, soothing, and performed with an exquisite touch, the release states.

"There are four levels to composing and performing music," he said. "First is just getting the notes right, then having it sound like music, next playing with feeling, and finally-and most important-is to be able to move people."

Highlights of his extensive career include selling more than two million albums, recording with the London Symphony Strings at the famed Abbey Road Studios in London, and performing with Mannheim Steamroller on the "Today Show."

His most popular song, "Daybreak," has been streamed more than 13 million times from online sites such as Pandora.

"Along with being an accomplished musician, what really sets Steven apart is his live performances and how masterfully he can set a tone and create this peaceful ambiance wherever he plays," said Nicolet College Theatre Director Jim Nuttall. "It really is a gift and a big part of why he has been so successful."

His career as a producer is also extensive. Steven has produced more than 350 titles, including a best-selling series of CDs that blend music with the serene sounds of nature on the NorthSound label. Other production credits include working as producer and creative director for New York City-based Michael Whalen Music, a top composer for TV shows and feature films; producer for children's music for The Discovery Channel; and producing, composing, and performing music for the award-winning Baby Genius series.

Tickets are $12 and can be ordered online at nicoletlive.com or by calling (715) 365-4646.
