Youth basketball: RBA 8th-graders 22nd in LCT
The Hodags went 2-4 over the course of the two-day tournament. Rhinelander went 1-2 in pool play, opening with a 27-15 win over Eau Claire Green, but following with losses to Medford (34-16) and Onalaska (39-22). The Hodags concluded Saturday's play with a 40-31 loss to West Salem in the first game of their placement bracket.
On Sunday the Hodags defeated New Richmond Orange 32-29 but fell to Cochrane-Fountain City 28-22 in the 21st-place game.
7th graders win in Phillips
The Hodag seventh-grade girls' basketball team went undefeated last Saturday to take first place in a tournament.
Rhinelander went 3-0 in pool play, allowing 16 points each in wins over Medford, Ladysmith and Hurley. The Hodags finished with a 45-11 victory in a fourth game against Phillips.
