JWMS hosts WVC middle school track meet
The Hodag boys finished eighth in the 10-team meet while the Hodag girls finished 10th.
Rhinelander's best individual finish of the day came in the boys' 1,600-meter run where eighth-grader Abe Laggis finished third overall with a time of 5 minutes, 15.56 seconds.
Drake Martin took fourth in the long jump (16 feet, 6 3/4 inches) for the Hodags. Chase Redmond was sixth in the shot put (38-4 1/2) and eighth in the discus 104-1). Walker Hartman took seventh in long jump (15-11 1/2) and eighth in the 400 (59.74).
The Hodag boys scored well in all four relays, led by a third-place finish in the 4x800 with the team of Konnor Kennedy, Daniel Ritchie, Hunter Greyhair and Laggis). The Hodags added fourth-place finishes in the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400.
The JWMS girls scored in only two events at conference, both relays. The 4x400 team of Madi Losch, Lexi Morrison, Jade Forster and Izzy Haverkampf had the best finish, taking sixth. Rhinelander finished eighth in the 4x800.
