Mock trial team wraps up season, designs shirts to commemorate national record
This year, the team won a record-setting 30th consecutive regional title, en route to a second-place finish in the state tournament. The team designed shirts to commemorate their national record of 30 back-to-back Regional titles.The back of the shirt reads: Regional Champs, 1987-2016, and repeats "back-to-back" 30 times.
"Our kids proposed the design after seeing the members of one of the opposing teams at state, wearing Mock Trial shirts that boasted "back-to-back" Regional titles," coach Kathy Vick-Martini said in a press release. "There aren't too many competitive programs of any type that can claim 30 back-to-back appearances at State, so the kids wanted to create a shirt that observed this milestone in Mock Trial history.
"Hundreds of former RHS students have contributed to this record over the past 30 years, and for that reason, the shirts are being made available to any families of former RHS Mock Trial participants," added Vick-Martini.
