Sturdevant to share marathon experience at the library July 18
"Chris Sturdevant, who finished second in the 2015 Pyongyang Marathon, will shares his personal experiences and impressions behind the curtain surrounding this reclusive and secretive nation," library officials said in a press release. "2015 was only the second time that the annual Pyongyang Marathon has been open to foreign amateur competitors.
The event, which is part of the Summer Reading Adult Program, "Exercise Your Mind, Read," is made possible by the generosity of RDLF. Call the library at (715) 365-1070 with any questions.
Sturdevant has spoken extensively on Cold War topics on behalf of the Cold War Museum in Washington DC.
He has been interested in the Cold War and its impact on the modern world for many years. As an accomplished runner, he has represented Team USA in the World Masters Athletics Track & Field Championships in Finland, Hungary and Canada. Sturdevant is a children's librarian at the Waukesha Public Library and a graduate of Carroll University.
