mBank announces senior level promotions
Clay Peterson will serve as senior vice president, Western UP & Wisconsin market executive and managing director of retail banking.
"Mr. Peterson has been with the bank for approximately 1.5 years as the senior vice president, Delta County regional executive," the company said in a press release. "During this time, he has played several key roles in expanding our retail/commercial footprint in Delta County and assisted in the successful acquisition of the First National Bank of Eagle River. His experience from an expansive and diverse, 15 plus year banking career in Northern Michigan has proven to be essential in the overall continued success of our growth efforts. Peterson will now oversee all retail banking activities including the entire branch network and mortgage/consumer lending and will continue to manage all commercial lending activities in the Western UP and new Wisconsin markets. He is a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a degree in Business Management and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Graduate School of Banking."

Joanna Slaght will serve as senior vice president, managing director of administration & regulatory compliance risk. "Mrs. Slaght has been with the bank for over 20 years," the release states. "During this time she has served mBank in several key senior management positions, including SVP compliance officer/risk manager, as well as direct supervision of mortgage underwriting and other administrative departments. Slaght has been a member of the bank's senior leadership team for 10 years. Through her direction, the bank has continued to attain strong compliance reviews while managing global compliance risk throughout the organization. She will now oversee Human Resources, Marketing, and Training & Development/Sales Administration for the company while continuing to manage the Compliance Department." Slaght holds a degree in Business Administration with Finance Specialization from Marquette University.
