Hodag Farmers' Market is bursting with late spring bounty
By Virginia Mootz-
Hofrichter Farms has babied many tasty varieties of vegetables under plastic in the hoop house for months, and will be bringing some early cucumbers, peas, and carrots to market. Come early as they won't last long!
Along with the early cucumbers you will find an amazing selection of healthy vegetable and flower plants, beautiful rhubarb, zesty radishes, refreshing spring greens, and amazing bakery. This Saturday is a great opportunity to restock your pantry with fresh local maple syrup, honey, local free range eggs, and gourmet canned goods. Don't pass by our non-edible farm products either! Jim the "Birdhouse man" has sturdy, hand-crafted cedar bird and bat houses, to bring nature's helpers in to your yard and garden.
The Hodag Farmers' Market is held every Saturday morning in Pioneer Park, on Oneida Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feel free to bring your credit cards and debit cards, as well as SNAP/EBT cards. John will be happy to help you use your card to purchase tokens that can be used the same as cash at most of the vendors. As in other years, WIC and Senior Nutrition checks are also accepted by most vendors.
Hope to see you at the market this weekend!
