The Rhinelander Pickleball group had a special guest Thursday morning as U.S. Open Pickleball doubles champion Dave Weinbach (red hat) held a clinic at the Rhinelander High School tennis courts for members to improve their game. Pickleball is an offshoot of badminton that was invented in 1965 in Washington state, but exploded in popularity nationwide when senior citizens discovered it in 2008. The Rhinelander group meets daily from 9 a.m. until noon, weather permitting, and is open to people of all skill levels. For more information on the group, email [email protected].
