Ryan D. Sisco, 23, who fled Oneida County with Martinson in March 2015 after she killed her mother and stepfather, was charged June 9 with six counts of sexual assault of a child under 16 years of age and exposing his genitals to a child. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Branch I judge Patrick O'Melia Friday. After reviewing the criminal complaint, O'Melia found there is probable cause to believe that Sisco committed a crime and bound him over for trial. His attorney, Rodman Streicher, entered not guilty pleas to the six felony charges and one class A misdemeanor after assistant district attorney Jillian Pfeifer filed an information that listed the same charges.
According to the police report attached to the original criminal complaint, an anonymous person called the Rhinelander Police Department on June 6 to report the alleged victim was having sex with "an older male." On June 7, a detective followed up on the call and learned that the alleged victim was just under 15 years old and that the adult male was Sisco.
The alleged victim initially denied having sex with Sisco but later admitted they had sex at least six times. She said she met Sisco when he was dating her mother and they became sexually involved a week after his relationship with her mother ended.
When Sisco was questioned by the detective, he admitted to the sexual nature of his relationship with the girl, and that he had sex with the girl at the house of a friend, Adam Kramer, 37, of Rhinelander, with Kramer's knowledge and alleged encouragement.
On June 8, Kramer was interviewed by detectives. He allegedly denied knowing Sisco and the girl were having sex but later admitted he was there when it happened.
According to the report, Kramer also said as "the adult present," he should have stopped the two.
At his initial appearance on June 9, Sisco was given a $10,000 cash bond. He remains in the Oneida County Jail, unable to post the bond.
Kramer also made an initial court appearance June 9. He is charged with failure to act to prevent the sexual assault of a child, a class F felony. O'Melia set a $7,500 signature bond and scheduled his case for July 25.
Sisco, who was not involved in the deaths of Martinson's parents, took a plea deal on charges he had sex with Martinson when she was 16 years of age. He and Martinson were apprehended on an interstate highway in Boone County, Indiana, north of Indianapolis, the day after Martinson killed her stepfather and mother in their town of Piehl home on March 7, 2015.
Sisco was charged with having sex with a child age 16 or older but was given a deferred prosecution agreement on May 5, 2015. He was released from the agreement on May 2 and the charge was dismissed.
He is due back in court August 30.
If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison along with a $100,000 fine on each of the six felonies.
