Vander Bloemen to host third annual Liz Vander Bloemen Charitable Golf Event
Vander Bloemen first hosted the event in July of 2014 in honor of his mother Liz, who valiantly battled the disease for 6 years before passing in September 2014. Vander Bloemen has personally witnessed the emotional undertaking Alzheimer's presents to both the individual diagnosed and also to their loved ones.
"She was such a great Mom; she was always there for us," he said in a press release announcing the third annual event. "I miss her every day and this is my way of honoring her."
Partnering once again with the Scott Richards North Star Charitable Foundation, Vander Bloemen hopes to meet his goal of $100,000 through the event and the Foundation's match. The SRNSCF, the charitable arm of North Star, will match all proceeds for every dollar raised up to $50,000. In the past two years of the event, Vander Bloemen has been able to present a $100,000 check to Mayo Clinic's Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.
The event will begin with lunch at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 18 and the golf outing will immediately follow. A silent auction and dinner will close out the night with all proceeds from the auction also directed towards the Mayo Clinic's Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.
With over 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's, Vander Bloemen is hoping to make a difference to help those struggling with this deadly disease. To contribute to the cause, visit http://www.northstarfinancial.com/foundation/alzheimers-golf-charity-event-donation-page/
