SDR Special Olympians take part in state meet
"The School District of Rhinelander athletes did an amazing job competing and were successful in placing first or second in all of their events," the district stated in a press release.
Tim Shriver, Chairman of Special Olympics, gave an inspiring message at the opening ceremonies June 9 for all to hear.
Senior Keegan Marko brought home a silver medal in the shot put throw and senior Krystal Kriesel brought home the gold in the softball throw. Junior James Michniak took the gold medal in the 100-meter run. Freshman Miguel Gonzalez also brought home a gold medal in the softball throw.
Paige Appling and Maria Dornfeld were silver medalists in the softball throw.
